Aurora Sewing Center Tunes-up, services and repairs ALL make and model sewing machines!

Note: Machine Tune-ups do include cleaning, and exclude any necessary parts and installation. If your machine requires replacement or repair parts, additional labor charges may incur. 

Mechanical Sewing Machine Tune-up (has dials):

Mechanical sewing machine Tune-up (sewing machines with dials, and no push buttons or circuit boards) includes a thorough sewing machine cleaning which includes removal of all thread, dust and debris from gears and internal workings.  Additional Tune-up details:

  • Machine dependent, once covers are removed, all gears and internal moving components are inspected.
  • Your sewing machine is cleaned, with all debris, dust and threads removed.
  • All bushings and moving parts lubricated oiled and adjusted.
  • We set the hook timing, and adjust tensions.
  • Checked and set belt tensions, and set timing between upper and lower shafts.
  • The upper and lower tensions are set to the sewing machines factory specifications.
  • We inspect the bobbin winder, feed dogs, needle bar, bobbin case, hook, motor, wiring.
  • Any burrs in the thread path and from the sewing hook are polished.
  • We then test sew the machine’s performance and function with a new needle.

      Electronic (Computerized) Sewing Machine Tune-up (has buttons and electronics):

      Electronic sewing machine Tune-up includes all of the same cleaning, lubricating and applicable inspections as mechanical machines, as well as additional inspections and details paid toward the circuit boards, internal processor and more complex electronic components.  Additional Tune-up details:

        • Machine dependent, once covers are removed, all internal moving components are inspected.
        • Your sewing machine is cleaned, with all debris, dust and threads removed.
        • All bushings and moving parts lubricated oiled and adjusted.
        • All gears and internal moving components are inspected.
        • We set the hook timing, and adjust tensions.
        • Checked and set belt tensions, and set timing between upper and lower shafts.
        • The upper and lower tensions are set to the sewing machines factory specifications.
        • We inspect the bobbin winder, feed dogs, needle bar, bobbin case, hook, motors, wiring and electric cords, screens, circuit boards, circuit board connections, lights, buttons, and sensors.
          • The various Sensors in your machine will provide additional information that will help us to diagnose errors and identify any repairs your machine may need.
        • Any burrs in the thread path and from the sewing hook are polished.
        • Check thread cutters and automatic needle threaders.
        • We then test sew the machine’s performance and function with a new Schmetz needle.

        Longarm or Midarm Quilting Machine Tune-up:

        Longarm or midarm quilting machine tune-up service includes all of the same cleaning, lubricating and applicable inspections as computerized machines, as well as additional inspections and details paid toward the circuit boards, internal processor and more complex electronic components.  Service includes a thorough cleaning, inspection, oiling / lubrication and adjustments as needed. We will also check for any broken parts once your machine is open and we can look inside.  Additional Tune-up details:

        • Machine dependent, once covers are removed, all gears and internal moving components are inspected.
        • Your sewing machine is cleaned, with all debris, dust and threads removed.
        • All bushings and moving parts lubricated oiled and adjusted.
        • We set the hook timing, and adjust tensions.

        Embroidery Machine Tune-up (combination of electronic sewing machine with embroidery unit):

        Embroidery Machine tune-up service performed on an Embroidery Machines includes all of the same cleaning, lubricating and applicable inspections as electronic sewing machines, as well as additional inspections and details paid toward the circuit boards, internal processors and more complex electronic components.  Additionally, the embroidery unit or module is serviced, and the sewing machine and module is collectively calibrated.  Additional Tune-up details:

        • Machine dependent, once covers are removed, all internal moving components are inspected.
        • Your machine is cleaned, with all debris, dust and threads removed.
        • All bushings and moving parts lubricated oiled and adjusted.
        • All internal moving components are inspected.
        • We set the hook timing, and adjust tensions.
        • Check and set belt tensions, and set timing between upper and lower shafts.
        • The upper and lower tensions are set to the sewing machines factory specifications.
        • We inspect the bobbin winder, feed dogs, needle bar, bobbin case, hook, motors, wiring and electric cords, screens, circuit boards, circuit board connections, lights, buttons, and sensors.
          • The various Sensors in your machine will provide additional information that will help us to diagnose errors and identify any repairs your machine may need.
        • Any burrs in the thread path and from the sewing hook are polished.
        • Check thread cutters and automatic needle threaders.
        • We then test sew the machine’s performance and function with a new Schmetz needle.
        • The embroidery unit covers are removed for cleaning, and thread and debris are removed from the unit’s internals and gears.
        • Belt tensions are set, gear mesh is set, and gears are lubricated.
        • Sensors and function of embroidery module is tested, calibrated and centered.
        • We then test the machines and embroidery modules’ embroidery performance with new #80 Schmetz Universal needle.

        Please note – all embroidery designs need to be saved by the customer prior to pursuing service, otherwise they can be deleted in the process.

        • Is there anything I should be aware of prior to pursuing a Tune-up on my Embroidery Machines?  Yes, it is recommended that ALL embroidery designs be saved by the customer off of their embroidery/sewing machine (i.e. onto their computer or external hard drive) prior to dropping off their machine and pursuing this service or a Tune-up.  If there is a circuit board issue / replacement required, all embroidery designs will be lost. This is the customer's responsibility prior to pursuing this service.

        Multi-Needle Embroidery Machine Tune-up:

        Multi-needle Embroidery Machine Tune-up service includes similar cleaning, lubricating, and applicable inspections and check points as Embroidery Machines with additional needle bars, gears, extra tensions and no feed dogs.  Service includes a thorough cleaning, inspection, lubrication and adjustments.  We will also check for any broken parts once your machine is open and we can look inside.  Additional Tune-up details:

        • Machine dependent, once covers are removed, all internal moving components are inspected.
        • Your mulit-needle embroidery machine is cleaned, with all debris, dust and threads removed.
        • The multi-needle embroidery machine has all threads stripped off the machine so it can be cleaned and all debris removed from tension units and thread guides.
        • Covers are removed, and all bushings and moving parts lubricated oiled and adjusted.
        • We inspect all internal moving parts, needle bars, bobbin case, hook, motors, wiring and electric cords, screens, circuit boards, circuit board connections, lights, buttons, and sensors.
        • Center and replace all new Schmetz needles.
        • We polish any burrs off the hook, set the hook timing, and lubricate.
        • We rethread each needle, set each needles’ tension to the sewing machines factory specifications.
          • The various Sensors in your machine will provide additional information that will help us to diagnose errors and identify any repairs your machine may need.
        • Check thread cutters and automatic needle threaders.
        • We then test the multi-needle machines’ embroidery performance by stitching out a design.

        Please note – all embroidery designs need to be saved by the customer prior to pursuing service, otherwise they can be deleted in the process.

        Serger (Overlocker) Machine Tune-up:

        Tune-up service performed on a non-industrial serger or overlocker machine includes covers removed, as dependent on machine type, and dust, debris, and threads thoroughly cleaned from the internals of the serger machine.  Additional Tune-up details:

        • Your serger machine is cleaned, with all debris, dust and threads removed.
        • All moving parts, gears, cams are lubricated and greased.
        • All internal moving components are inspected.
        • If applicable, looper tubes are cleared and cleaned.
        • Loopers are inspected, and timing set.
        • Timing is balanced between the upper and lower shafts.
        • All tensions are set to the serger’s factory specifications.
        • Knife blades and connections are inspected, and mesh are set.
        • Feed dog height and stitch fingers are inspected, and needle plate polished.
        • As applicable, we inspect the motors, wiring and electric cords, screens, circuit boards, circuit board connections, lights, buttons, and sensors.
          • The various Sensors in your machine will provide additional information that will help us to diagnose errors and identify any repairs your machine may need.
        • We then test stitch the serger’s performance and function with a new ELX #90 Schmetz needle.

        Straight Stitch and Featherweight Machine Tune-up (straight stitch with no dials):

        Straight Stitch and Featherweight sewing machine tune-up service includes a thorough cleaning by removal of all thread, dust and debris, and lubrication of all bushings, gears, pullies and bearings.  Additional Tune-up details:

        • Your sewing machine is cleaned, with all debris, dust and threads removed.
        • All bushings and moving parts lubricated oiled and adjusted.
        • Belts are inspected, and tensions set
        • We inspect the motor, wiring and electric cords.
        • We inspect the hook, deburr and polish, and set the hook timing, and adjust tensions.
        • The upper and lower tensions are set.
        • The featherweight machines’ exterior finish is cleaned and is polished.
        • We then test sew the machine’s performance and function with a new needle.

        Additional restoration or re-wiring work can be performed on a case by case basis.

         

        INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE SERVICE

        Industrial Machine Service features all of the same check points as Mechanical Machine Tune-up Service as well as the separate bobbin winder, if necessary. Service includes a thorough cleaning, inspection, lubrication and adjustments to manufacturers specifications, and test sewn.

        Our technicians can conduct on-site sewing machine services and repairs for industrial machines at your facility. We recognize for industrial and business operations, time is money, and on-site repairs are necessary to quickly get your sewing machine back into proper operation.

        Please call either store for technician availability and scheduling for on-site services and repairs. Special fees, and hourly-based pricing and travel will apply. Exclusions will apply, including on-site repair service cannot be combined with any other specials, coupons or discounts.
