At Aurora Sewing Center, we offer more than 750 sewing, quilting, and embroidery classes each year, making us Western New York's premier destination for sewing education. Whether you're a beginner learning the basics, an experienced sewist looking to refine your skills, or a creative enthusiast exploring new techniques, we have classes designed for every age and skill level—from ages 8 and up.
Our hands-on and virtual sewing classes provide a fun, welcoming, and inspiring environment where you'll learn from knowledgeable instructors, gain confidence, and connect with fellow makers. From garment sewing and quilting projects to machine embroidery and specialty techniques, Aurora Sewing Center offers exciting learning opportunities year-round.

For every class, whether you’re learning to quilt, learning to make garments, or just beginning and learning to sew, you should be prepared to bring basic sewing supplies with you, including:
- Sewing Machine with bobbin, needles, presser foot, power cord, and foot pedal
- Scissors, large & small
- Thread (Aurifil 50 wt or METROSENE is perfect for beginner projects)
- Glass Head Pins
- Seam Ripper
- Rotary Cutter
- Frixon Pen, fabric marker, or chalk
- Fabric
Class Supplies & Materials
Don't have all the required sewing, quilting, or embroidery supplies for your class? Aurora Sewing Center makes it easy to get everything you need. Students receive 15% off eligible class supplies and materials purchased through our store. Simply let our team know you're shopping for an upcoming class when checking out.
Depending on the class, additional materials may be required, including project patterns, fabric, notions, stabilizers, thread, or other specialty sewing and quilting supplies. A complete class supply list, including any required patterns and project-specific materials, will be emailed to you within 48 hours of registering online.
